Based on the frescos at the Holy Monastery of Vatopaidi on Mount Athos, as well as the Monastery of the Transfiguration of Christ in Meteora, this is a contemporary icon of Saint Paul the Apostle and Saint Justin the Martyr and Philosopher with many classical philosophers who sought and spoke of the Logos and who would find fulfillment in Christ and His Holy Gospel.
Saint Paul's Scroll:
"Therefore what you worship in ignorance, this I proclaim to you. The God who made the world and all things in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth..."
Saint Justin's Scroll:
“Come, be taught; become as I am, for I, too, was as ye are.”
