I am most drawn to the monastic saints and the Fool's-for-Christ, and this saint is both! The gold highlights on the green garment really and contrast. The disheveled hair expresses the lack of concern for appearance that the holy fools seem to posses in great abundance. His eyes and facial expression convey peace and humility. It's a simple image with a dynamic presence.
