I originally wanted to order this icon for our parish bookstore (to sell at our Festival).I was thinking this would appeal to our non-Orthodox visitors more than other traditional icons. I finally got around to ordering it. Forget about potential non-Orthodox buyers. I want one for myself!
This icon turned out to be more beautiful than I had expected - it is also mounted well on a stout board and looks lovely in our icon corner. An olive-oil lampada burning before it captures and projects the nuances of the colors and thus the icon becomes a powerful manifestation of the Lord's Light to all who look at it with faith. Our non-Christian relatives who do not (yet) share our Faith in Christ have also admired it.
