I buy several icons of various sizes, then craft rugged frames from old barn wood, and gift them to people, encouraging them donate to a favorite charity in lieu of payment. Everyone loves these icons.
This is such an incredibly beautiful icon. Words cannot describe the depth and vibrancy of this. Worth every penny. Simply stunning.
I bought the largest size of this icon, unmounted, hoping for some inspiration on how to frame it. Eventually I framed it against an old wood pallet, and the colors, figures and message came to life! Our meditaiton group and classroom use this as our centering focus this Advent. Further, I realized I had waiteda little too late to get it by Advent, and Luke was kind enough to get this beautiful piece out on time for us to enjoy. I was looking for a long time an icon of nativity for my twin boys that are born on Christmas Eve. Finally, this Orthodox traditional representation pleased me. First of all, it respects the symbolic imagery of the tradition and it also has bright colors and a beautiful drawing, to please my kids too :)
