beautiful icon of my favorite saint

I bought this as a gift for a friend, and when I got it in the mail I was very happy with the quality, especially the vibrance of the colors. I had to fight off a little jealousy telling me I should keep it for myself. My friend ran around his apartment in happiness when he got it, he didn't yet have an icon of St. John Damascene, even though he's his favorite saint. Thank you all very much!
The icon of St. John Damascene has beautiful colors and the mounting is of excellent quality wood as all the Uncut Mountain icons are, but the reason I bought this icon is because of the scroll that St. John is holding: "Sailing amid the tumult of the cares of life, I founder with the ship of sin and am cast to the soul destroying beast, yet like Jonah I cry to Thee, O Christ." Each day when I venerate my icon I read this scroll to remind myself that no matter what troubles and worries the day brings I need to cry out to the Lord instead of tackling problems by my own efforts.
This icon is as it appears. The quality is good and colors and text are crisp. It is a very beloved addition to our home.
